The Debate Between Cotton and Cotton/Poly Thread For Quilting.

If you have been a quilter for any time at all or been around quilters, you undoubtedly know there is a debate as to which should be used for quilting:  cotton or cotton/poly thread.  I have been quilting for nearly 30 years and have ALWAYS

Great Idea for Fathers Day Gift, Or Kitchen Gift, Or Quilting Gift

I found the greatest gift idea for Fathers Day.  It’s a spray bottle.  I know, what makes this spray bottle so amazing that it is worthy of “Father’s Day Gift Status” you ask?  Instead of spraying out droplets that are too large and leaking all over your hand, it sprays out a micro mist that is finer than the spray from hair spray.  And now you are wondering why it would be a good Father’s Day gift, right?  My husband  LOVES to smoke meats on his smoker.  This sprayer is perfect for misting with apple juice or what ever for the smoking process.  I have used this sprayer for misting my oven to help form a nice crust on bread, and I LOVE it for misting fabric that I have to iron for quilting.  Inside the bottle is a “bladder” that helps from a vacuum so one full pull of the trigger and you can mist an entire fat quarter with a micro fine spray.  I have about four of these floating around the house (one for Best Press spray starch; one in the kitchen for water; one for the smoker; one for wrinkle release on the long arm quilting machine) and I’m sure if I put some thought into it, I could find many more uses as well.  The sprayer is called “Stylist Sprayer” and was originally designed for hair stylists.  They are available on Amazon for around $10 each and have a variety of styles available.

This is what they look like and make sure to get the ones called “Stylist Sprayer”
