Delicious and Easy Grilled Mediterranean Kabobs
I love going to Greek restaurants for the delicious gyros. All those fresh flavors combine into something truly delicious. The only reason I go to a restaurant for this is because I couldn’t figure out how to make it at home without purchasing a “wheel” of gyro meat. No way I could ever use THAT much. So, this got me to thinking that maybe I could come up with a comparable version using fresh ground beef and ground lamb. The results are delicious, easy, and healthy. Make sure to try the Mint Chutney with the Kabobs. YUM!!!
Grilled Mediterranean Kabobs
1 lb. ground beef, lean
1 lb. ground lamb
3 cloves garlic, finely minced
3 – 4 green onions, finely minced, lightly dusted with flour
1 t. coriander seeds, toasted and lightly crushed
In a medium size bowl, mix everything together. Cover and refrigerated until ready to cook. This will help the flavors mix throughout the meat.
Divide the meat into equal portions. Press and form around a bamboo skewer or form into patties.
Grill on a hot grill until done, approximately 10 minutes.
Serve with tzatziki sauce, mint chutney, fresh hot pita’s, salad, etc. for a delicious, fresh, and healthy meal.
