Tzatziki Sauce Brings Greece to Your Kitchen
Tzatziki Sauce is a staple in Greek Kitchens. This Tzatziki recipe is easy to make and full or flavor. Try it with Mediterranean Kabobs or any spicy food to “cool” the “heat”.
Tzatziki Sauce
1 c Greek yogurt, with the water poured off
1 c sour cream, with the water poured off
1 large or 2 small cucumbers, seeds removed and chopped
2 – 3 cloves of garlic, finely minced
1 T lemon juice
2 T olive oil
salt and pepper to taste
Grate the cucumber on the medium side of your grater. Combine the grated cucumber with the yogurt, sour cream, garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil. Still well and taste. Adjust flavor with salt and pepper. Store in a covered contain in the refrigerator until ready to use.
NOTE: Don’t try to use a blender with this recipe. The cucumber contains so much water that it will water your sauce down a lot! Just go for the old-fashioned way and mix by hand.
