Need a Quick and Easy Dessert? Try this Berry Angel Cake
This dessert is perfect for the times when you need something quick and easy that actually tastes great too.
Berry Angel Cake
1 – 16 oz. package of fresh berries (strawberry, blueberry, blackberry, raspberry or a blend)
1 angel food cake
1 -8 oz. box of cream cheese, room temp or warmed in the microwave
2 c. whipped cream or cool whip
1/2 c powdered sugar
1 t. vanilla
Using a mixer, mix together the cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and whipped cream. Split the angel food cake in half, like a layer cake would be. Spread some of the cream cheese mixture on the layer and top with the other layer. You can also place berries on the layer before topping it with the other piece of cake. Spread the remainder on the top and sides of the cake, saving about 1/4 c to cover the hole. Fill the hole in the angel food cake with berries and cover with the reserved 1/4 c. of cream cheese mixture. Decorate the top and sides with fresh berries. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
