Delicious, Chocolatey Brownies from Scratch!
My family loves brownies hot from the oven. But I don’t like the mixes because they are full of oil and just don’t taste as great as homemade. Also, I don’t like adding preservatives to my family’s diet when I can make delicious brownies from scratch is about the same amount of time as the box mix takes.
Chocolate Brownies
2 c granulated sugar
1 1/2 c AP flour
1 t baking powder
1 t salt
4 eggs
4 squares unsweetened chocolate
2/3 c butter
1 c chopped nuts (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
In a medium bowl, mix together the sugar, flour, salt, and baking powder and set aside.
In a small pan, melt the butter and chocolate over low to medium heat making sure you don’t burn the chocolate.
Pour the butter and melted chocolate into the flour mixture and add the eggs. Mix until combined. Pour into a greased 9×13 pan and bake 25-30 minutes or until a pick inserted into the center comes out clean.
