2011 Chateau St Michelle, Columbia Valley, Pinot Gris  $10

This is the first time I think I have ever tried Pinot Gris and wow, this is a delicious wine!  Beautiful pale yellow color with aromas of juicy pear, tangerine, and peach.  The flavors are wonderful with pear as the prominent flavor followed by oak and a light citrus on the finish.  This wine has a soft, buttery mouth feel that doesn’t strip your tongue and leave you gasping for water.  Would be delicious with fish, seafood or grilled vegetables.

3.5 out of 5 stars.  I probably wouldn’t buy a case unless the price was outstanding (which I think $10 is close) but would definitely invest in several bottles.
