2009 Signorello Pinot Noir
I love big luscious reds and this Signorello Pinot Noir definitely delivers in a big way. Signorello knows what they are doing in producing wines worthy of cellaring. The bottles are nice and heavy and the corks are long and natural (not agglomerated – pieces of cork held together with a resin).
Back to the wine! The initial aroma is jammy with a hint of earthiness. Pleasant medium tannins and tons of rich plum and cherry flavors with just a slight initial sweet taste. This is a great wine to savor and enjoy. Excellent with a tray of rich hors d’oeuvres. I wouldn’t serve it with a meal – don’t get me wrong, it would be wonderful but I love to savor the complexity of this luxurious wine and wouldn’t want to be sidetracked by the flavor of a full meal. Serve it with a high quality Parmesan Reggiano or Mimolette cheese, spicy black pepper crackers, white truffle butter, almonds, olives, a spicy salami, and rich dark chocolate.
Sit back, relax and discover the delicious complexity of this wonderful Pinot. Yes, I would buy not one but two cases. So if the opportunity presents itself for you to purchase this wine, in my opinion, it is money well spent and after all, all I have is my opinion!
5 out of 5 stars!
