Cakebread Zinfandel Red Hills Lake County

Well balanced fruit – you can’t pick out any one fruit flavor but tastes like a mix of several.  Beautiful bright ruby-red color with a light tannin finish and a subtle hint of spice.  I think this wine would hold up to cellaring well and grow in complexity.  Would go well with cheese or meat but this wine will also beautifully stand on its own.  I would definitely invest in a case with no hesitation so this one earns a 4.5 out of 5 stars; but then I haven’t found a Cakebread I haven’t liked!
