Ginger and Cardamom Tea – Great Way to Beat a Cold this Winter
Ginger and Cardamom Tea is deliciously creamy and a great way to boost your antioxidants.
The health properties for both ginger and cardamom are amazing.
Ginger: good for treating colds, migraines, arthritis, it is an anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, and anti-fungal.
Cardamom: good for muscular pain, adding in digestion, anemia, regulating blood pressure, and is an anti-bacterial.
Ginger and Cardamom Tea – makes about two cups
3 c water
1/2 inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and roughly chopped
12-15 cardamom pods, cracked with a mortar and pestle
2 t raw sugar, honey, or agave syrup
1 T loose black tea of your choice
1/3 c half and half
Heat the water in a sauce pan until just boiling and reduce to a simmer. Add the ginger, cardamom, and loose tea and allow to simmer for a few minutes (the longer it simmers, the stronger the tea so you may have to adjust the sugar and/or half and half).
After the tea has simmered for a few minutes, add the sugar and the half and half. Allow the heat to come back up. Strain into a cup and enjoy!
NOTE: Feel free to adjust ingredients to get flavoring you prefer.
