Great Idea for Christmas Morning Breakfast

Are you wondering what to prepare for a special Christmas morning breakfast?  Here’s an idea that is super easy.  Get a Pannetone from the store (Sams and Costco have them also), use it to prepare a delicious French toast.  Here is the recipe for the custard that my family has loved for years.  Unfortunately I don’t have a photo, but I will post one on Christmas morning.

Christmas French Toast

6 eggs, beaten

1 T sugar

1/2 c heavy cream (alternative: use egg nog in place of the heavy cream)

1/2 t cinnamon

Place everything in a large shallow bowl and beat to combine.

Heat a large heavy skillet with butter.

Place slices of Pannetone in the batter and coat both sides, then immediately place in the hot skillet.  Cook until nicely browned on both sides.  Serve with butter, syrup, powdered sugar, cinnamon, etc.
