Looking for Something Special for New Year’s? Try Caymus 2012 40th Anniversary Cab

Caymus 40

We ran across this hidden jewel recently and decided to give it a try.  Caymus is celebrating its 40 anniversary in the wine business with this delicious cab.  The color is a deep, dark purple – almost black with flavors of lush, juicy black cherry, blackberry, and plum.  I detected chocolate and a bit of coffee on the mid-palate and a nice cherry finish with a light spiciness.  The tannins are nice on this one giving you the ability this age it easily for 5 – 10 years (although it is delicious now), then look out!  It’s going to be heaven on earth!  Enjoy with a nice rib-eye or prime rib.

I found this for $65 locally but with a search on the internet I saw it is available for $52 plus shipping.  Definitely worth the expense and I am going to purchase a few bottles for aging.
