How to Kick Baked Beans Up a Notch

I love making the food I serve my family and friends memorable.  Here’s what I do to regular old canned baked beans.

Dump the beans into an oven safe casserole dish.  Mix in one finely minced onion and 1 t Liquid Smoke.  Give it a stir.  Take four to five pieces of bacon and coat both sides in brown sugar (this is called pig candy), lay on top of the beans and sprinkle the brown sugar that fell off on top.  Bake at 375 degrees F. for 1 hour.  (I cover with aluminum foil for the first 30 minutes so the bacon and brown sugar doesn’t burn.
