Need a good book to read?

An Invisible Thread

I am an avid reader.  I am always reading at least one book.  In fact, several years ago my husband got tired of all the books accumulating in the house and bought an ipad for me so I could do electronic books.  That cut down on the stacks but not the number of books I purchase a month.

Recently, a friend and I were making lemon curd and she told me about a book that someone recommended to her called “An Invisible Thread” by Laura Schroff.  Since I was finishing up one book and knew I would be looking for the next one, I purchased it and read it in three days!  This book is unbelievable – it’s a true story about how one person can be such a positive influence on another persons life.

Here is a short teaser for you, I promise I won’t tell you too much.  Basically, the author was walking down the street in New York City one day and a young boy asked her if she could spare some money.  She walked on by, how may of us have done that, then stopped and turned around to come back to him.  He asked her again if she had any money he could have because he was hungry.  She told him she wouldn’t give him any money but she would take him to the McDonalds down the street and buy him whatever he wanted to eat.

That’s all I’m going to tell you about the book.  Just know that this book will definitely make you realize how nice your life is and the fact that “yes” you can positively influence someone’s life for the price of a hamburger.
